FAQs
* Will a sunroom add value to my home?
A Four Seasons Sunroom may add 60-90% of its cost to the value of your home. They are engineered to comply with tough building codes. The real value is a tangible and creative addition to your present living space to be enjoyed now and for years to come.
* Do all Four Seasons Sunrooms have glass roofs?
You have many options for both solid and glass roofs. For example, the Series 230 Sun & Shade Rooms have a solid straight roof or a solid cathedral roof which gives a more porch-like feel and offers more privacy. The Georgian and Victorian conservatories, with glass roofs and walls, would provide the most daylight and night sky views.
* Can we put a sunroom on an existing deck?
Yes, with proper supports, we can add on to decks, barns etc. In colder climates we recommend building on a frost wall, but we will help you determine the most efficient way to add on to your current structure.
* Do the windows open?
Yes, there are several operative window options including casements, sliding and awning types. Screens are included for all operative windows.
* Is Four Seasons glass different than my regular Low-E window glass?
Yes. Four Seasons Conservaglass SelectTM is tempered for strength and safety, has a two-seal system with air space for increased thermal performance and protection, and multiple glass coatings that keep the room warmer in winter and cooler in summer.
* Do they need to be heated?
In northern Vermont, sunrooms do need to be heated for year-round comfort. A separate heat zone is recommended. Specific heat requirements are determined according to sunroom size, glass square footage and customer choice. We will guide you through a variety of options that meet aesthetic, economic and engineering needs.
* How long do they take to install?
The model and size and Mother Nature all affect the amount of time it takes to erect a sunroom. Generally, on a prepared foundation installation takes two to three weeks.
